Delivering Critical Capability
ForgeLine was developed in environments where failure isn’t an option.
Our roots trace back to Patagonia’s former Lost Arrow Project, where our team spent more than two decades working alongside U.S. Special Operations Forces to develop Operational Fieldwear for some of the most demanding conditions on earth. In the months after 9/11, operators were deploying so quickly that purpose-built mission apparel often didn’t exist. Early solutions came from adapting commercial outdoor gear to meet immediate needs, but it quickly became clear that something more capable was required: lighter, smarter, more versatile systems built specifically for operational realities.
That work evolved from modified off-the-shelf garments into fully integrated uniform systems engineered for mobility, environmental exposure, and performance across changing conditions. Over time, it shaped a clear point of view that still defines ForgeLine today: gear should be essential, durable, adaptable, and built to perform when the outcome matters.
